The workshop is the beating heart of Woodrup Cycles. We are proud to be one of the most active Shimano Service Centres in the country, offering a full range of services from on-the-spot punctures to full bike rebuilds and all aspects of general maintenance.

We have always invested heavily in the workshop, to make sure we have the best tools, equipment and training to keep your bike running to the highest standard.


Of course, the most important part of the workshop is our team of 5 highly skilled, qualified mechanics. This proactive, collaborative team is always looking for the best ways to keep your bike in the best possible working order. Between them, their specialist knowledge ranges from building custom wheels, to servicing and running diagnostics on e-bikes and in-house suspension servicing.

The Mechanics are all Cytech trained to minimum level 2, with a number of Level 3 accreditations and have a range of specialist qualifications including Fox Suspension Tech, Mavic Wheel accreditation and Bosch e-bike service accreditation.

The mechanics are at their best when faced with a complex mechanical issue that needs come outside-the-box thinking. They love finding solutions to new issues and exploring the new technology as it comes out, including latest suspension technology, electronic gearing systems and all the ebike motor systems - Shimano/Bosch/Yamaha/Fazua

Specialist Servicing at Woodrup Cycles

  • Chris King Hub Servicing

    Even the world's best hubs need servicing. At Woodrups, we have the tools and knowledge to keep the most technically advanced hubs on the market running smoothly.


    Service includes - Full disassembly of all components using genuine Chris king tools. The bearing seals are removed and flushed with degreaser. Each component is examined for damage and wear, then reassembled using specialist CK grease and oil.

  • In-House Suspension & Dropper Servicing

    Our FOX accredited mechanics carry out Fox and Rockshox suspension and dropper servicing in house. We carry good stocks of genuine suspension parts to allow us to turn suspension repairs around quickly. Services start from £50 parts

  • Custom Wheel Building

    Custom built wheels are a speciality here at Woodrups. Over the last 20 year, our master wheel-builder has hand built thousands of wheels.

    We build pretty much any style of wheel from BMX, mountain bike, heavy duty touring to a super light weight road setup. Our wheels are built using components from leading manufactures including Shimano, Hope, Chris king, Mavic, DT and H Plus son.

    If you can't find exactly what you want from an "off the peg" set of wheels then come and chat to us about having a set built specifically for you!

  • Insurance crash damage estimates & insurance valuations

    Crash damage assessment

    If you require a quote for insurance purposes following an accident, we can carry out a full damage assessment. This includes checking frame and fork visually for damage, checking frame and fork alignment, an inspection of all components to assess for damage and a costed review of damage which can be submitted to the insurer in a claim. We charge £50 for this service, which we require upon delivery of the bike to the shop. In most cases this cost will be recoverable from the insurer.

    Bicycle valuation

    If you have specialist, bespoke or custom bicycles that your insurer has requested a written valuation for – we can offer a fully costed valuation, part by part, at the current market value, including a photograph of the bike as assessed. The cost for this is £50, again paid upon delivery of the bike to the shop.

    Neither of the above covers the repair or adjustment of any parts of the bicycle. These are purely assessments for the purpose of insurance.

Full bike safety inspection

Sealant topped up if needed (sealant extra)

Gears and brakes checked and adjusted.
Mech hanger checked for alignment
Chain degreased and re-lubricated
Gear mechanisms lubricated
Service report with advisories

STAGE 2: DELUXE SERVICE

Standard service +
Complete removal of drive train components, Cleaned in our Bio parts washer(Electrical components are hand cleaned)
New drive train components fitted if needed at no additional labour cost
Wheels trued, tensioned and dished (Broken spokes will incur an additional charge)
Bike washed with specialist products

STAGE 3: PRIMO SERVICE
From £200


Deluxe Service +
Brakes serviced and bled with fresh oil. New stainless brake inner cables fitted if mechanical brakes
Bike washed with specialist products
Ebike and electronic gear updated

*Please note we do not work on home made Ebike electrical systems. If you require any non electrical work carrying out on these types of bikes the battery must be removed prior to entering the shop*.
